George Verdak (1923-1993) was a ballet dancer who became director of the Butler Ballet. George Verdak was born in Chicago, where he attended the Art Institute. He then chose dance as a career and joined the Chicago Ballet Repertory Company, where he performed original works by Massine and Nijinska.
